Traveling & a New Training Schedule

Ahhhhh, we are home and gearing up for our Monday WOD! OMG we are so freaking tired, sore, hungry, dehydrated and did I mention tired? I am chugging down a ROCKSTAR (zero sugar, zero carbs), I have taken a hot shower to help relax my aching muscles and I have nibbled on an apple and some pecans to curb my hunger so I don’t barf during our WOD. I have a visit to our chiropractor around the corner and I have spent some time doing some self myofascial release (foam rolling).
We really should be eating mass quantities of food and going to bed but, when you have a training schedule, you have it for a reason! I don't foresee us posting awesome numbers tonight but I know that my body will be horribly confused if I don’t exercise today. Rest days, no matter how they are spent, make me sad.
Chris and I started a strict training schedule to get Chris prepared for the War of the WODs competition in January of 2015. Although I am not participating, I am super good at supporting him and why wouldn’t I train just as hard? Seriously, this is a great opportunity for me to get that awful body fat down and to support my awesome husband! Woo, go team!
This up coming week is really going to test us. We had a rest day on Sunday but we have WODs Monday - Wednesday, we rest on Thursday *gobble *gobble and then we train Friday - Tuesday. I don’t know if my body will allow this to happen, but I will give it my all and then some! I know that I have to listen to my body first, never mind that I am so tired I fear I might fall asleep driving to the box, but I also know that I can pull through.
This last Saturday, before we drove to Georgia, we did a Team WOD at 10:00 am after doing a regular WOD on Friday at 6:00 pm. This was the first time I have ever done a WOD this close together and also, the first time I have ever done a Saturday Team WOD. Thanks to our awesome box owner, he paired me up with a really strong team which gave me a fighting chance not to die. Even with the power house team I had, I knew I was pulling them down and keeping them from winning.
Failure doesn't sit well with me, no matter how it is presented. I know that the Saturday WODs aren’t going to be my strong suit but they will definitely work on my weaknesses and I know that I will see gains from them. There are a lot of movements that I am working to improve and I know through my drive and determination that I will see improvements in this next month and a half of training. I will not get there alone though, I am grateful for my strong Crossfit community that will continue to encourage me and push me and for my husband who will always be my biggest cheerleader!
