Change Can Be Scary

Sorry I’ve been so MIA this month! It has been a busy, joyous and challenging time all at once. I have embarked on a new career, I have had some unfortunate dental issues for the last two weeks (and still counting) and I have been bombarded by life. My house is messy, my legs need to be shaved and I’ve been surviving off slim rations of leftovers because I don’t have time to cook. It’s such an awesome time to be alive!
Okay so there’s my apology now on to business. I have so much to blog about but really I want to talk about CHANGE. I know that “change” is such a scary word that some people allow themselves to be crippled by it and what is potentially associated with it. If no one has told you, it’s okay to not change if you’re happy and love yourself. If you’re a miserable person, by all means, make some changes!
I have been through many challenges in my life and I have changed because of them or to over come them. I have never considered myself stagnant, however, I have been stuck before. I know what it is like to feel like things are never going to get better but the difference for me is that I seek the change to make things better.
I have been afraid, I have been depressed and I have been lost but I know that I would rather live a life of failures than live a life of never trying. I have also learned to accept that some people will never change and as much as it pains me, there are times you have to lower your expectations.
I have chosen a career path of wellness so I can help those people that are seeking change and it’s hard for me to walk away when people need help. Actually, I don’t walk away, I get pushed away because I’m a fighter and I don’t quit and I will put my heart and soul into helping those who ask, even when they just take advantage of me.
I have to learn to not take it personal, I have to learn to distance myself from those who cry wolf and just need attention and uplifting but give nothing in return. I am responsible for my own happiness and I have to set the precedence and be honest with myself with what I need and want from my friendships and working relationships, actually, we all need to set those goals!
So all that being said, CHANGE can be wonderful. Don’t think it doesn’t scare me because it does! I know it is always easier said than done but I walked away from a 15+ year “career” as an office assistant and followed my heart to help those in need and I fell in love with personal training, nutrition and wellness. What better choice than to help those that struggle with the same things I’ve struggled with?
Change can come in many different forms and in unexpected ways. Sometimes it’s as easy as saying “yes” when you’d normally say “no” and sometimes its monumental and you take a huge leap of faith. You may land on your feet and hit the ground running, you might slip and fall and if you’re like me, you might wheeze your way through success slower than everyone else but hey, you’re doing it! Just find your pace and stick with it because it’s an awesome time to be alive.
